The Rajiv Chowk ((ヒンディー語:राजीव चौक)) is a Delhi Metro station in Delhi, on the Blue and Yellow Lines. It is a transfer station between the Blue Line on the upper level and the Yellow Line on the lower level.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Station Information )
It is one of the busiest stations on the network, serving Connaught Place in the heart of Delhi. It handles 5 lakh passengers every day.
Many businesses and important buildings, restaurants and cinemas are situated just outside the station. There is a Nirula's store inside the station. There are two Cafe Coffee Day restaurants on either side inside the station(Which are open at 5:30 in the morning). Delhiites, especially the older ones, often refer to the station as CP. Above the station is the beautiful central park.
The station has been named after a student named Rajiv Goswami. Rajiv was a commerce student at the Deshbandhu College, Delhi University who came into prominence when he attempted self-immolation to protest against Prime Minister V.P. Singh‘s implementation of the Mandal Commission recommendations for job reservations for backward castes in India.
